Garlic..a herb people either love or absolutely hate. Regardless of the preference of your taste buds, you and your skin will love the benefits that garlic will bring! 

So How Does it Work?

Garlic is packed with vitamins and minerals that are both beneficial to your health and your skin. Made up of rich compounds such as Zinc and Calcium; these properties help maintain a strong skin barrier and acne flare ups.

Whether it’s acne, pimples or skin infections, the anti-bacterial properties in garlic help you say goodbye to the unwanted marks quickly and effectively. Assisted by the anti-fungal and anti-viral properties which deeply cleanse the skin, treating more intense skin infections as well.

As we already know, these little cloves are packed full of antioxidants. These antioxidants are the solution to repairing dry and/or damaged skin; AND it helps get rid of acne scars, that’s what we need right? Acne and acne scars drive a lot of people me I’m there with you all, thank goodness we found garlic to prevent and get rid of the retched things!

DIY Treatments

NOTE: Garlic also contains sulfur. This helps to help/dry out your skin. For more sensitive skin types, this may burn. Do a patch test before using these masks over the face or body. 

Try these three different masks for acne free skin!

Cleansing Pores: Tomato and Garlic Mask – 

  • use 2 garlic cloves and one small tomato
  • blend until it’s a puree
  • apply to clean and dry skin for 20 minutes
  • wash off with luke warm water
  • splash with cold water to close pores and pat dry

Acne Mask: Honey/Agave and Garlic

  • blend 5 cloves of garlic and 1 table-spoon of honey/agave nectar
  • once puree, apply over clean dry skin for 20 minutes
  • wash off with luke warm water
  • splash with cold water to close pores and pat try

Black head Mask: Oatmeal, Honey/Agave, Lemon and Garlic

  • Blend 2 cloves of fresh garlic in a food processor till it’s a soft purée. Scoop it out into a clean bowl and add 1 tablespoon each of ground oatmeal and honey, a few drops of lemon juice, and 1 drop of tea tree oil. Mix all the ingredients well to form a smooth paste. Spread this on your face and neck evenly, focusing on the areas where you have blackheads. Massage it into your skin for a few minutes, using your fingertips in circular motions. Leave it on for 15 minutes, before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this mask thrice a week to see a reduction in blackheads.
  • blend 2 cloves of garlic, place in a bowl
  • place 1 tablespoon of honey and ground oatmeal
  • a few drops of lemon
  • a drop of tea tree oil (optional)
  • mix all ingredients to form a paste
  • massage onto clean, dry skin then leave for 15 minutes
  • since off with warm water and pat dry

TIP: use this pimple cream on bad acne after using one of these masks for best results

Pimple Cream: Garlic Clove

  • take one clove of fresh garlic and cut in half
  • rub the open half over acne
  • leave over night
