Oatmeal is a delicious and healthy breakfast if you know a health nut or you’re one yourself; you’ve definitely come across oats before. Oatmeal has a high fiber and mineral content that keeps you healthy from inside out, also, oatmeal can be very useful in fitting our skin needs.

So, what are the great benefits of Oatmeal? Oatmeal is a very gentle and natural exfoliator, it’s packed full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that help to soothe and calm skin while removing dead skin cells. Saponins are a compound that is a natural cleanser, removing dirt and oil that clog pores.

I have been using oatmeal as a cleanser for over 10 years, I originally started using it in an attempt to combat my red skin. My skin was always very red and very sensitive, although I rarely suffered from breakouts. After using oatmeal is my morning cleanser over a few months, I stopped wearing makeup, my skin evened out and everyone was asking me what I have done for my skin to be glowing in such away. I’ve never looked back. I always find myself recommending it to anyone and everyone as it fits so many needs.

Ingredients

All you need is a hand full of dry oats and some warm water.

Steps

  1. Wet face with warm water
  2. Grab a hand full of oats in your hand
  3. Add warm water slowly until oats become soft
  4. Use oats and oat milk to gently wash the face and neck as usual
  5. Rinse and pat dry
  6. Continue to tone and moisturize as usual.

TIP: to calm skin on the body, pop 2 cups of oatmeal into your bathwater.
